2024 Ghana Leadership Awards to be held on November 9

The 16th edition of the Ghana Leadership Awards (GLA), an annual awards ceremony that aims at honoring deserving leaders in Ghana, is set to take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra.

The glamorous event, which has honored several top leaders, organisations and institutions in Ghana, seeks to recognize, celebrate and reward exemplary leadership that significantly contribute to advancing Ghana and Africa at large.

The 16th edition of the Ghana Leadership Awards according to its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Professor Emmanuel Y. Nash will be held under the theme: “Love your Country, Love Your People”.

In a statement issued in Accra on Thursday, October 24, 2024, the CEO said the GLA management and the award committee would as usual ensure that the most deserving persons and organizations are selected for the honours.

"As an award scheme, we always strive to maintain our integrity and high standards by ensuring that our awardees actually merit the recognition. We also pay particular attention to the important roles they play in the social, economic and political development of Ghana and Africa," Professor Nash indicated.

He said that the award targets individuals, groups and organisations that fight or dismantle oppressive structures, helping community development, promoting peace, unity, religious and political tolerance, mutual accountability, rule of law and human security among others.

Professor Nash further indicated that the prestigious awards had significantly contributed in shaping the attitudes and leadership style of former and potential awardees, keeping them in check, inspiring them to do more and reminding them of their responsibility to strive for more excellence.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Leadership Awards ceremony was first organized in 2009 and has since honored political, religious, economic, and traditional leaders, musicians, journalists, and businessmen and women across Ghana.
