The Paramount Chief of the Agave Traditional Area and President of the Agave Traditional Council, Togbega Xedihor Hlitabo IV, has been inducted as a member of the Volta Region House of Chiefs.

In a brief but colorful ceremony held on October 15, 2024, at the Volta Region House, his induction coincided with that of nine other Paramount Chiefs from various traditional areas in the region.

The newly inducted chiefs underwent the necessary rites to formalize their membership in the Regional House. Togbega Tepre Hodo IV, President of the House, took the opportunity to admonish the new members to approach the work of the House with utmost seriousness and to replicate the same commitment in their respective Traditional Councils. He urged them to demonstrate exemplary leadership to uphold the continued trust placed in traditional rulers.

Togbega Xedihor Hlitabo IV was accompanied by other distinguished chiefs from the Agave Traditional Area, as well as special guests from the Kabiawetsu Division of the Ada Traditional Council, led by Nene Dr. Tetteh Ayiku Abordonu IV, who graced the occasion.

The Volta Region House of Chiefs is a deliberative and decision-making body that oversees chieftaincy-related matters in the region. It plays a vital role in preserving the cultural heritage and identity of the people, symbolizing unity and pride. The House is also tasked with promoting the integration of indigenous socio-political structures into modern governance systems for the development of the region.
