Every time I listen to the governing NPP's flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, campaign, these are the unspoken messages I often hear smeared within his political rhetorics:
1. The president simply chose me to occupy the position as the Vice President and the Head of the Economic Management Team. He apparently does not find me worthy enough of listening to, and has no regard for my in-depth economic and technical know-hows that could have turned the country's economic fortunes around positively.
2. The President is such an obstinately unbending leader and has his own grand agenda to wreck the nation that he [the President] always discard the great economic solutions I have been proposing to him since January, 7, 2017.
3. My economic counsels to the President simply did not hold water and it is those same economic ideas I keep proposing to him that have actually plunged the country into this avoidable pit – in which case, I am the greatest disappointment, not only to the President but to the NPP and you, my fellow Ghanaians. Remember, in the President's own words, he brought me from the Bank of Ghana to help him fix the ruins President Mahama had caused the country's economy at the time. Oh, such a failure and an incompetent Vice-President I am!!
4. I am alluding to your complains that the country is somehow in a big mess, "but hey, I'm not responsible, blame your President, your Showbwoy." But be rest assured, however, I'll fix his mess if you vote for me as your next President.
5. Hey, forget the grammar we keep speaking in front of the cameras, though we won't accept it, we know we've messed things up and I'm part of the problem. All these wreck is calculated and I am the perfect replacement to continue the President's legacy and cover his tracks.
6. I know you Ghanaians are not only fools but are stupid and undiscerning. You'll vote for me massively if only I can keep denying or sugarcoating all your current realities and tell you everything is just fine and better under my Boss than it was under the "incompetent" Mahama.
7. I've always known the President is heading this country into an imminent doom as he keeps discarding all my warnings and suggestions. The fact that I still remain the Head of his Economic Management Team simply shows that I'm such a shameless coward – a loud testament that I lack the courage it would take to make the tough decisions that would bring the country back to her feet even if I eventually become the President of this Country.
8. I know exactly how to fix this country's economic challenges but I'm very wicked, selfish, and unpatriotic that I won't proffer the solutions now to my Boss and ensure they're implemented and followed through unless you, idiots, make me the President. I don't want my Boss to take credit for my intelligence, hard work, and economic wizardry.
9. Dear hopeless tax payers, let it be known to you that for these past over 7.5 years, you've just wasted your money to pay and take care of me as your Vice President and the Head of the Economic Management Team. Trust me, I have no remorse for wasting your resources.
10. Seriously, I do not care that my utterances do not only sound very annoying to you, the discerning voters. I know they make me look like a joke and a concert party, but you guys can go to hell because I know the majority of Ghanaians would reward us massively for our "good works" come December 7. Even if the voters won't, we have a plan.
There's a Hero in you; unleash it!
