Mid-Year Budget: Dr Amin Adam to make first presentation in parliament on July 23 — MoF

The Ministry of Finance has announced that Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam will present the Mid-Year Fiscal Policy Review to Parliament on Tuesday, July.

The mid-year budget review offers an update on the implementation of the 2024 national budget halfway through the fiscal year.

It provides insights into Ghana's economic and fiscal performance in the first six months as well as the progress of key government programmes.

"The Mid-year review to be presented on Tuesday, 23rd July 2024, offers an update on the implementation of the 2024 Budget, with insights into the economic and fiscal performance for the first half of the year," said part of the Ministry’s statement dated July 22.

The statement added that the review will highlight budget implementation plans for the rest of the year, including a possible revision of growth policies with a focus on SME growth.

It will also provide the status of major government initiatives and adjustments to revenue measures, expenditure controls and financing based on half-year data.

This will be Dr. Amin Adam's first budget presentation since he assumed the role in February 2024.

His mid-year review takes on greater importance as it provides an assessment of Ghana's economic recovery under the IMF-backed Post-COVID-19 Programme for Economic Growth (PC-PEG) halfway into the program year.
