The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has assured the flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamadu Bawumia of his continuous prayers in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential elections.

"The one thing I can assure you is prayers, we will continue to pray for you in the remaining months you are preparing for the elections," he stated.

The Overlord of the Asante kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II said when the Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia called on him on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

Tell Ghanaians what you can do
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II however urged Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, to clearly explain to Ghanaians what he wants to do when voted into office as President.

"I am urging you to explain well to Ghanaians what your government has done, what you could not do and intends to do as the next government," he stated.

This, according to the Asantehene, will help Ghanaians choose between him and the rest of the presidential candidates in the upcoming general elections.

Rail Development in Ghana
For his part, Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia told Asantehene that, one of his visions for Ghana is to develop modern rail lines to boost business.

"Rail is a very important piece of infrastructure for every economy that wants to develop, Ghana has a lot of mineral deposits that will be exploited soon, hence my resolve to develop railways.

"I intend to liaise with the private sector to achieve this task," he told the Asantehene during his opening statement.

NPP's flagbearer again assured Asantehene of his good vision for the country, calling on chiefs in the region to pray for him.

He noted that the next government under his rule will focus on developing Ghana to a point where everyone will benefit.
