After watching excerpts of the Britain's Got Talent show semi-finals that featured the ever-smiling Afronita and her protégé, Abigail hoisting the flag of Ghana high up, I realized that Ghana has something special to offer the world.
The duo coordinated their dance moves to perfection, making them a delight to watch. The judges had no choice but to give them thumbs up for such an exciting performance.
The use of Afrobeats singer, Fuse ODG's song was a masterstroke. It put the audience in a party mood. Quite apart from that, their costume really highlighted their Ghanaian heritage . Kudos to them for promoting made in Ghana goods.
Afronita and her former colleagues at DWP Academy have really reinvigorated the dance industry, which seemed virtually dead. They did this with their loud presence on social media promoting their craft. In a short time, their efforts have arrested the attention of dance lovers.
Afronita has had her fair share of challenges. Her departure from DWP Academy which could have been managed properly was blown out of proportion. Both parties could have resolved their differences without public attention. It gets to a point in life where one outgrows his or her environment. The motivation to stay in such an environment is sometimes non-existent; hence, the need to move on to higher heights. However, if such a situation is not handled with tact, it will dismember the cordial relationship once enjoyed by both parties.
She showed mental fortitude by not allowing the controversies to bog her down. She has proceeded to open her own dance academy with her concentration solely on kids. Bringing kids under her tutelage to become better dancers is a feather in her cap that is noteworthy. She needs to be applauded for the enormous work she's done on Abigail. One needs to be clothed with some special skills and a special Grace to handle children of Abigail's nature. Once more, she has to be lauded for mentoring Abigail with finesse.
Having made it to the finals of the competition further projects the image of Ghana because the ripple effect is invaluable and immeasurable. All hands on deck in rooting for them to clinch the ultimate.
Go higher, Afronita and Abigail!! Ghana is wholly behind you. Make the nation proud.
