Hon Abilolo Woos Pretty Victoria for Alan Kyerematen

I met this pretty lady on the 6th floor while I rushed into a meeting with her boss. She was well dressed with sweetly trimmed hair but even more, she wore an enchanting smile that struck me so hard to initiate a conversation on introducing her to the Movement for Change. A conversation that would soon get us chat on WhatsApp where she makes the following enquiry; “so tell me about your movement”

The following is my response I believe must be amplified to help Alan’s redemption mission:

It’s a young force started by Alan Kyerematen to reset our country towards prosperity for all and equal access to national wealth. We believe the NPP-NDC duopoly after 32 years has not served our common interest with their adversarial system that sees a winner-takes-all structure of governance with the other in perpetual opposition to any sound policy.

We need a President who is credible, competent and has the track record to rally the whole country in unison behind a National Development Plan. Where our nation is built according to our shared aspirations and not what the President and his family wants.

Industrialization and Job creation is our mantra because Alan has been the brain behind all major Industry creation and business support schemes across Africa. He is the main brain behind the set up of the intercontinental Free trade Area with Head Quarters in Accra that has brought together some 54 countries to trade amongst themselves.

Last year, the Human Development Report proved Unemployment remains our number one problem as a country. A reason most young people with promising future would rather leave or desire to leave this country for menial jobs abroad. We cannot continue like this!

Alan sees the problem better by his experience into government and knows firsthand, what to do to fix it when given the nod.

He believes however, it will take young people like you and I whose stakes are much higher in this election as it presents a golden opportunity to endorse the usual order of prosperity for whoever becomes president and his cronies, or to embrace Change that would set the tone for our collective good! A change for a government of the people, by the people and for the people!

This Alan by his contributions globally in Development Planning, Development reforms, Trade policy formulation, Public Sector restructuring, even across Africa, was selected amongst global giants like Bill Gates, JFK, Oprah Winfrey, etc as one of the 100 distinguished people to change the world in the current millennium. He is not a novice or one of the empty folks who were made by local politics. A more reason I believe you and I should entrust the future of this country into his hands. He is a man of distinctive results!

Now, in his bid to change Ghana under the Movement for change, he has presented to the country and all stakeholders a working document called the Great Transformational Plan-The GTP! This Policy document presents a development framework that deals head-on and thoroughly, with our peculiar development needs as a country after years of retrogressive deeds by the duopoly.

Beyond his specific business enhancing policy proposals like a fixed exchange rate for Spare parts importation, a duty free regime for spare parts importation, Retail Market Infrastructural Program that would rebuild our markets, Single digit interest rates, Setting up a Traders’ Bank for Business men and women, Creating a Free Port Enclave at Tema for strategic Anchor goods, I entreat you to pay attention to his brilliant spatial development approach to transforming Ghana he’s been heralding; Central region becomes the financial services hub for West Africa because of its unique positioning between the oil city and the greater Accra, the Western Region he says will become the Centre for Petrochemical Research and Exploration for West Africa, Volta Region becomes the Centre for Skill Development accounting their special endowment in skills for artifacts, Eastern region too will become the Centre for Scientific Research given their wealth of Flora species and ecosystem, Ashanti region will become the Industrial Hub which will be enhanced by the Boankra Inland Port he engineered! He promises to unveil the specific contributions of all other regions as he visits! Never have we had such a brilliant man with a deep appreciation of the Ghanaian worth no matter the geographical location like we have in Alan Kyerematen!

He believes like most developed countries, a rapid industrial regime that rides on local production for export would go a long way to earn us foreign exchange to shore up our reserves while creating jobs and putting to use the all valuable skills and talents and strength of every single Ghanaian; in particular is the young man and woman like you and I whose only wish is to have decent livelihood in the motherland.

The time is now and it is even more strengthened in the Movement’s formation of an Alliance with some huge political stakeholders like National Interest Movement, Alliance for Accountable Governance, etc as a mark of Unity for a common good!
