Historian, Nana Obiri Boahen has described the commitment of the people from the northern extraction like the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the development of the country and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as commendable.
As Ghanaians go to the polls on December 7 this year, Nana Obiri Boahen urge electorates to vote for an honest and trustworthy flagbearer, and parliamentary candidates across the country.
“As a historian, I have also read a lot about the UP and the Northern People's Party, and frankly, your people are honest, trustworthy, forthright, and truthful so, I said, 'Why can't Northerners also lead NPP to these elections?”, he quizzed
At a mini rally, some party members in the Upper West Region, the NPP leading member said, people like Dr. Bawumia deserve to be president at all costs because of his character.
“I am doing these things because of the love I have for Bawumia and NPP. I started my Mamprusi train agenda and drummed it until this time, so I take responsibility for whatever I say. If it is bad, hold me accountable. On the contrary, the party can take it”, Nana Obiri engaged some opinion leaders and founding founders of the party.
The outspoken politician who spent two days in the region visited the graves of the late founding members of the party in the Upper West Region, such as S.D. Dombo, Bin Silah, Kaleo Djato, Abayifa Karbo and B. K. Adama.
The staunch supporter of Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia also asked their departed souls, the NPP founding fathers, to support Dr. Bawumia to win the 2024 polls.
Nana Obiri Boahen also visited the paramount chiefs of Lawra Naa Puowele Karbo IV and Douri and other key personalities like personalities and pleaded with them to continue their sacrifices for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP.
