Ghanaians Mustn't Allow Nigeria To Pulled Them Into A Senseless War

ECOWAS is a club of puppets West African Head of States that have allowed themselves to be controlled and intimidated by descendants of the colonial monsters whom our forebears chased.

Ghanaians should not forget all the injustices Nigeria governments have perpetrated on Ghanaians, where was ECOWAS when President Buhari unilaterally closed the western border with a flimsy excuse of influx of inferior goods especially rice being smuggle from Republic of Benin into Nigeria. The border remain closed for several months and he plugged his ear to all the wise counsel from other president including President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo. That unilateral decision rendered most of the goods being transported to Nigeria to go bad, and the owners and the transport owners lost huge sums of money.

ECOWAS leaders must be guided by the atrocities and the destructions that Libyans experienced during the callous attack on Libya and eventually had Col. Muamur Gadafi killed. Ever since, the good people of Libya had been rendered useless, and once a peaceful buoyant economic haven in Africa have been reduced to rubbles, and peace had eluded them ever since that barbaric military intervention by the forces of evil. Is that what the ECOWAS leaders want for the good people of Niger.?

The decision to restore the deposed President Mohammed Bazoum was a panic reaction from the West African leaders for being afraid they may be the next victim of military junta, therefore crushing the military junta might give them some respite.

Africans are not deriving any benefit from this democracy that was forced on the citizens to experiment. The only role the electorates play in this drama of democracy are called every four years to queue and elect people who should lead them, unfortunately most of the people they elect are corrupt, rude and greedy who always lures the electorates to vote for them and their political party with deceptive promises.

The moment power is handed over to them they deliberately formulate policies that alienates the masses from participating in the governance structure of state and the lifestyle of all the government appointees changed instantly and the reverse is the case for those who elected them. These appointees are provided with almost everything for free, despite all the investment made to ensure they perform their duties with integrity, sadly some of them are very greedy and uses their office to loot the scarce resources available. This exploitative democracy is what fuels the greedy conduct of these political class to milk the state dry without any consequences.

Does it make sense deploying troops to Niger for them to be slaughtered in an attempt to restore democracy. What is happening in the Sahel region is a new wave of emancipation efforts of freeing themselves from the treachery of France hegemony in West Africa.

The exploitative democracy in West African is a pure charade where the political class are highly corrupt and very ruthless with opposition elements. This so called democratic experiment have been abused by these leaders with impunity and have deluded themselves to think coups are no longer lucrative and can do anything they wanted, hence some of them re - engineered the constitution and also compromised the other pillars of democracy which has enable them to override all legal processes.

Dr Abdel- fatau Musa Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security exhibited hatred for the leaders of the junta through all the interviews he granted when he arrived in Ghana. His utterances exposed the agenda of the West African leaders to deploy troops to Niger without seeking the consent of the Security Council and justified it with Russia invasion of Ukraine, and the invasion of Libya without the consent of the Security Council, therefore, they have the right to fight the junta in Niger.

It appears ECOWAS leaders are under estimating the issues at stake, and if they try anything silly the fire would consume the subregion and there would be no hiding place for any of them. What should engage the ECOWAS leadership now is to ensure the West African Presidents adapt good governance mechanism and expand the frontiers of participatory democracy.

The ECOWAS must accept the military junta and negotiate for a quick return to constitutional rule, any attempt to deploy troops to Niger would have president Bazoum killed.
