Government will commence a series of national updates to track the progress of the Agenda 111 hospital projects starting today, Thursday, 29 June 2023.
The project implementation committee has reported that work has commenced on 88 sites since August 2021, which have been categorised into eight zones.
According to the Ministry of Information, these updates will provide detailed reports on the status of each project, following a validation visit by the project team.
The ambitious Agenda 111 project encompasses the establishment of 101 district hospitals, six regional hospitals in the newly created regions, two specialised hospitals in the middle and northern belts, as well as the renovation of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital. Additionally, a regional hospital in the Western Region is also part of the project.
The primary objective of the Agenda 111 Project, as highlighted by Information Minister Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, is to significantly enhance the delivery of quality healthcare at the district level.
By boosting access to healthcare services for all citizens, the government aims to contribute to the attainment of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal Three, which focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all.
