Preparations are underway for the hosting of the much-anticipated women's conference by the Women's Wing of NPP Germany.
The event, which has become a major program on the itinerary of the Branch, is to be organised at the beautiful German city of Duisburg on 1st July 2023.
With the Branch poised to support the Party's drive to break the eight, the conference will be organised under the theme "Ensuring Unity through the Involvement of the Women's Wing Towards Agenda 2024."
Many party bigwigs are billed to grace the occasion. Amongst the tall list of NPP stalwarts are Hon Joe Ghartey, Hon Ursula Owusu, Mrs Kate Gyamfuah, Hon John Kumah, Dr Nsiah Asare, Hon Mireku Duka, etc.
This will be one of three major events organised so far by the Germany Branch which has seen scores of NPP bigwigs jetting in and out of Germany. NPP Germany, under the leadership of Dr Felix Yamoah, a cardiologist, has since become the eye of NPP in the diaspora.
Last year, the Branch organised a unity dinner which saw the introduction of a fund to serve as a pool from which the Branch could draw and fund its activities. This year, also, the Youth Wing, under the leadership of Mrs Ruth Lindenberger, organised an entrepreneurship conference to encourage the youth in the diaspora to prioritise investing in Ghana.
According to the Women's Organiser of the Branch, Mrs Mary Ahenkan, popularly known as Sompahemaa, the first lady, HE Rebecca Akufo-Addo is expected to grace the occasion. She says plans are far advanced to host a successful women's conference.
