Has Akufo-Addo Really Betrayed Alan Kyerematen, as Yaw Buaben Asamoa Claims?

Feature Article Has Akufo-Addo Really Betrayed Alan Kyerematen, as Yaw Buaben Asamoa Claims?

Short of their trademark arrogance and strategically crass and vacuous propagation of malicious and criminal mendacity, the 2024 Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen for President Electioneering-Campaign Team has proven beyond the proverbial iota and penumbra of doubt that it has absolutely no morally and politically worthwhile platform to justify the motivation behind the vaulting ambition of its tantrum-throwing protagonist. Which is why Mr. Yaw Buaben Asamoa, described by the media as the spokesperson for the Kyerematen Campaign, has rather farcically, peevishly and shamelessly decided to fault “The Little Man from Kyebi,” whose presidential ambition the Kyerematen Faction of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its principals, financiers and sponsors attempted to sabotage in the wake of the 2007 seismic Presidential-Primary Election defeat of the widely alleged favorite or pet presidential candidate of former President John “The Gentle Giant” Agyekum-Kufuor for the wobbly and violently listing 2024 Kyerematen Presidential Campaign (See “Akufo-Addo Has Betrayed the Sacrifices Alan Kyerematen Made for Him – Buaben Asamoa” Pulse.com 5/22/23).

Now, I sincerely do not know whereabouts in Ghana the former Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party was born or claims his maternal or radical moorings, as he spells his names of “Buaben” and “Asamoa” differently from the “Buabengs/Boabengs” and the “Asamoahs” where I come from and was born and raised in our beloved Ghana. You see, Dear Reader, where I come from in the heartlands of both the Asante and the Eastern regions – I was, in fact, born and partly raised in the Asante Region, as well as the Greater-Accra Region, to be certain – “betrayal” is when you hatefully tender your resignation letter of membership revocation to the National Chairman of the very political party of which you claim to be a Co-Founder and a key player, primarily because you simply cannot abide having been decisively trounced in your party’s Presidential-election Primary by a better known and organized rival or competitor.

I suppose this is what he means, when the former one-term New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Adentan Constituency, in the Greater-Accra Region, means when the former “Honorable” Yaw Buaben Asamoa talks about the “great sacrifices” that his present paymaster has made towards the historic realization of the long-fought and hard-won Presidency of the dauphin or the eldest son of the late President Edward Akufo-Addo, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana.

Maybe we also need to ask Mr. Asamoa about the widely alleged epic sacrifices made on behalf of the then-Candidate Akufo-Addo when an ambition-crushed Alan Cash, as Mr. Kyerematen is also popularly known, decided to cross carpets and aisles in order to more suitably and properly vote in favor of his “Fellow Fante Presidential Candidate” and Rawlings-coronated Dynastic Nominee of the National Democratic Congress in the December 2008 Presidential Election, on the admittedly quite reasonable grounds that “Adepa Wo Ofie a Eye,” to wit, “A prized property or heirloom is best kept within the family.” So, precisely why does the Kyerematen spokesperson suppose that one good turn, as that jaded old maxim observes, somehow, does not deserve another when the proclamation of poetic justice, this time around, just happens to be coming from the longsuffering denizens in the camp of the globally famous and venerated scion of the Ancient Akwamu Royal Family?

I mean, what makes Kyerematen hangers-on like Mr. Buaben Asamoa believe and/or suppose that, somehow, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, grandson of the legendary and immortalized Osagyefo Nana Ofori-Atta, I, somehow, has a bounden obligation to either salaam or servilely genuflect in worshipful obeisance to Mr. Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen? Now, just what kind of arrogant behavior is this? You see, our Ancient Akan Sages of Yore had a saying that went as follows: “Just because you have grown up and become taller than your father does not mean that you are your father’s classmate or peer.” True sacrifice is voluntary and autogenerated, not when you have drubbed or literally beaten up to pulp and out of clinical consciousness, such that you have become practically as good as useless or dead, as we all witnessed your paymaster suffer at the hands of “The Little Man from Kyebi” at the Great Hall of the University of Ghana in December 2007.

I also sincerely don’t think that Mr. Buaben Asamoa wants a full replay of what real and true betrayal looks and feels like a la the venerable Joe Da Rocha-presided Committee of Eminent Elders of the New Patriotic Party. And by the way, genuine sacrifice has the glorious and immortalized name of Osagyefo Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie – aka Sir John – written all over it; not Alan Cash, trust me.
