"Only NPP government can salvage Ghana from economic crisis through prudent policies" — Charlotte Adwoa Antwi

Central Regional Women's Organizer of the NPP, Madam Charlotte Adwoa Antwi has stated that only NPP government could savage Ghana's economic crisis through better policies that would enhance economic growth and development.

She said the NPP government was putting in place policies and interventions aimed at restoring the economy.

"It is only NPP Government that can improve the quality of life for Ghanaians through its economic and social policies to cushion the citizenry in the wake of the World economic crisis. I therefore encourage every Ghanaian to rally behind His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led NPP Government in its quest to savage the economy," she stated.

Madam Charlotte Adwoa Antwi said this when she joined the Agona West Women's Wing of NPP at this year's Mother's Day Celebration for the aged at Lower and Upper Bobikuma last Sunday to recognize the positive contribution of women towards national development.

Touching on the positive contribution of women in the country, Madam Charlotte Adwoa Antwi acknowledged policies and interventions that the NPP had introduced to cushion women who have become partners in the upbringing of children in their communities.

She mentioned the introduction of the Free Senior High School which has given every household to access Senior High School education including single mothers.

"In the coming years, Ghanaians will see the benefits of the Free Senior High School, the county will produce the quality human resources needed to facilitate national development.

"There would be professional nurses, teachers, engineers, journalists, technicians, researchers, lecturers, doctors, executive directors, Chief Executive Officers among others in the public sector.

"The Free SHS will also produce business tycoons for the job market. They will create job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youth in the society. So the Free SHS is a long-time project which would lead the country to its promised Land.

"It is an open secret that nowadays women have become breadwinners in their homes. Many a time, women had to sell their clothes and other properties just to pay school fees and for housekeeping, the NPP government policies have relieved them of this economic stress and anxiety.

"I want to say without a doubt that the eight has already been broken come 2024 general elections and the margin will be wider than the 2020 general elections," she stated.

Madam Charlotte Adwoa Antwi acknowledged the positive contribution of the likes of National Women's Organizer of the NPP, Madam Kate Gyamfua, Mama Rita Asobayire, female MPs and MMDCEs and all Women Organizers in the Region, especially Agona West constituency.

The Agona West Constituency Women's Organizer of the NPP, Mrs Florence Yamoah disclosed that the celebration of Mother's Day has become an annual ritual for the Women's Wing of the party to appreciate the hard work and support women in the constituency towards growth of the local economy.

She observed the role women play in society to improve the lives of the people. According to her, the role of women in development cannot be over-emphasized.

Mrs Florence Yamoah lauded Queen Mothers, all women in the various sectors of the economy for the role they play in society.

"Mother's Day is used to appreciate our mothers especially the aged who are playing elderly roles to ensure peace and stability in their communities," she noted.

Ninfahemaa of Agona Abodom, Nana Hemaa Bronya who chaired the occasion encouraged parents to invest in their children's education and monitor the activities of their girl-child to reduce the high-level teenage pregnancies and school drop-out in the various communities.
