The Discovery Of A Goal-Banging Prodigy-Issaka Abass.

Goals spice up the atmosphere in any game. Goals determine games. Goals determine average teams, good teams and champions. Even though it is the most complex to coach in soccer, any great team may lack a few things in a competition but not goals because, goal scoring is the ultimate target of every good game. This is why many teams spend so much to buy players who can score or create them. No wonder attackers are the most expensive in the football market.

Ghana is a blessed country as far as football talent is concerned as we have produced so many world-class footballers. That not withstanding, it has not been the case when it comes to the production of attackers who score a lot of goals at the highest level. With the likes of Asamoah Gyan and co leaving the scene, who is next? The promising future of Afena-Gyan is evident but let's find who can be next by digging deep into the Ga East District FA - Division One Juvenile U17 League.

WHO IS THIS ISSAKA ABASS?

Issaka Abass plays for HOSPAS FC, in the Ga East Municipal Football Association. The team competes in the National Juvenile League. Abass was discovered in a PE class by his teacher in his village primary school called Tendanen Primary( a school known for producing little magicians), who invited him to join his club in Tempane(the District Capital) to start his career. His unrestrained talent was immediately noticed due to his hard work and dedication. It took him just some few days weeks for everyone in Tempane Dunamis FC to notice that a future star has been unearthed. His lightening speed, silky touches, meandering dribbling skills and thunderous shooting left foot was obvious. After playing left full back, centre back, wings and attacking midfield, the coach moved him to play as a striker. He became a nightmare for all defenders till today, banging in goals at will.

MOVING TO HOSPAS FC
Hospas FC was established in 2018 by Mr Emmanuel Antwi Nana Addo in Kumasi before moving to Accra later. Tempane Dunamis FC has been a loyal partner of Hospas Fc with 10 players leaving the shores of Tempane to Accra in the process. He made the team better from the start after a successful justify, winning the heart of the coach and colleague players scoring _golazos_ in training and in friendlies.

STYLE OF PLAY AND STATISTICS

Abass is a complete modern day forward who is comfortable playing at the right, left and through the middle. His best position is the striker slot, where he effectively and efficiently puts his natural attributes into action. Standing at a staggering height of around 1.80m already, the fifteen year old marksman is a menace in the box for defenders to mark because he combines aerial ability with lethal finishing skills. He scores strikes, headers, volleys, penalties and free kicks. He is ambidextrous like Ousmane Dembele but finishes like Erling Haaland in style. He scored a mouth-watering 25goals in 13matches in his first ever football season in the just ended Ga East District Juvenile U-17 league( 11 goals in his first 3 matches), propelling his team that finished at the bottom the previous campaign to the apex of the league table, becoming champions with 3 games to play. In so doing, they will the playing in the premier division next season. Just like the great, Abass has already outgrown the league in his first season, which earned him a call-up into the District U-17 team. Could this be the beginning of a superstar? Could he be the answer to our prayers as a nation? Time will tell!

I'M A WAILING VOICE IN THE BUSH. ONLY GOD KNOWS WHO WILL RESCUE ME AND WHEN.. More I'm ready to give what I never got. To help the future ones dream and realize their dreams. I'm a PE Teacher, a gospel minister, a Sports Coach and a life Coach. I gather the youth and teach them how to have a better future through Sports and Education. Whiles others accumulate to acquire luxury, I have my time and resources channelled towards giving hope to hopeless kids. I don't care if I will ever reap the rewards of my labour because my fulfillment is seeing smiles on their faces. I know it is a risk that can make me struggle to feed and cloth but my definition of poverty isn't lack of money. Though I am looking for sponsorship from organisations and individuals with a common dream, I will do it until my last breath. If I perish, I perish. I'M OUT FOR GOD AND HUMANITY!!Column: Ayamba Christian Asaana
