The National Liberation Congress (NLC) party has been issued a provisional certificate by the Electoral Commission (EC) as a new political party.
The Provisional Certificate of registration is in partial fulfilment of the Political Parties Act,2000, Act 574 Section 8, Subsection 2.
The certificate was issued to the party founded by Mr. Stephen Atubiga today, Friday, September 9, 2022.
Mr. Stephen Atubiga formed the National Liberation Congress in May last year after he announced that he is no longer a member of the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Taking to his Facebook page to confirm receiving the provisional certificate from the EC, Mr. Stephen Atubiga says he is excited.
“The NLC is pleased to inform you all, of the receiving of our provisional certificate earlier today from the EC.
“We are grateful to our founders, stakeholders, the National, regional, and constituency executives for not letting the NLC down,” Mr. Stephen Atubiga shared.
The NLC founder added, “We are grateful to our members and supporters for all the trust you have put in us. And opportunity given us in achieving this goal together.
“We are also grateful to the general public for all the support you have given us from day one to date."
