A shocking defect but a necessary move of a true leader!

Dear Michael Nii Yarboi Annan,

I hope this letter finds you in great health and safety. My heart bleeds as I pen down thoughts to deflate the heaviness on my heart after news of your decision to defect to the New Democratic Congress(NDC) reached me.

I felt a sudden chill run through my spine into every tissue in my body. It felt like a raging storm in my heart especially knowing how much you've sacrificed for the youth and New Patriotic Party in the Odododiodio constituency. Your defect is a painful one but I still respect it.

It's a clear definition of this extract; “To attract people naturally, effortlessly, we need only follow the true prompting of our hearts.” ― Wu Wei, I Ching Wisdom

Unfortunately, the few self-seeking wolves in sheep clothing in the higher echelons of power who have managed to attain certain influential positions wearing rings that bear the seal of the King, have devised ways and means to infiltrate the administrative corridors of power in order to bring into disrepute the hard-earned prestige and priceless heritage of the noble party.

However, as the Lord Jesus lives, one day; the Haman's who are seeking to destroy every good thing would be hanged on the same gauntlets they are preparing today. I feel your decision to consider defecting to the National Democratic Congress as an option comes with a serious cause for worry and consent; even though I respect it with no personal or ill reservations against the noble NDC party.

You fought so well and hard to ensure honesty, sanity, transparency, rule of law, decency, goodwill and above all accountability to be restored in the Odododiodio constituency. Unity of purpose and positive results at all times was one thing I picked from your dealings. Your respect for both allies and competing opponents was admirable.

I confess from the perspective of a witness to your good and noble deeds that sought to bring change to the persisting rot and backwardness that inflicted the lives of the youth and the elderly in the Odododiodio Constituency. The shocking part is that the rot is mostly engineered by those expected to know better and do good to the able citizens of Odododiodio. Your enviable passion and drive to build and impact lives; transforming the paradigms of the teeming youth who for years have become accessories to propagating the agenda of selfish leaders will forever linger on.

Sometimes, the occurrences of life can plunge us into a state of confusion; not knowing why the "misfits" get to wear the robes or crowns meant for royals. I believe your decision is not one that will cause you to lose that passion and drive to bring transformation to the youth. I believe it is a continuation of purpose and hope that it manifests in your newfound noble company. I hope and pray that the National Democratic Congress taps into your rich wealth of ideas.

It was an honour meeting and working with you. I believe a true leader will always remain a true leader whenever and wherever they find themselves. For those whose actions caused this bold and strong decision of defecting, they just lost a rare gem that would take them another century to nurture. I wish you well in all of your endeavors and wish every dream of yours becomes a reality.
