Kingsley Agyemang, the dynamic Registrar of the Scholarship Secretariat

Meet the affable and outstanding Registrar of The Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, Mr. Kingsley Agyemang. He is one of the handful of government appointees who have distinguished and transformed their organizations into first class entities since assuming the mantle of leadership in the last four years.

Under the stellar leadership of Mr. Agyemang, it is now as easy as ABC to apply for a scholarship to study either in a local or foreign institution regardless of your location in the country. The digitization of the Scholarship Secretariat means you can now sit at the comfort of your home and apply for a scholarship online unlike in the recent past where you had to travel to the Scholarship Secretariat to hand deliver your application.

What is more, the Scholarship Secretariat has decentralized its operations with the establishment of the District Scholarship Review Committee. To this end, interviews and subsequent selections are done at the district level, this has ultimately eliminated the stress of applicants having to travel to the head office of the Secretariat in Accra for scholarship interviews and selection.

It is also refreshing to know that under Mr. Agyemang's leadership, the Scholarship Secretariat has offered more scholarships to applicants more than it has ever done before. Indeed over 100,000 students have benefitted from scholarships in the last four years. It is therefore not surprising that the Secretariat has announced 150, 000 scholarships for the first batch of the government's flagship Free SHS program in the next academic year

Beyond his sterling performance at the Scholarship Secretariat, Mr. Agyemang has been a huge benefactor of the NPP in the Eastern Region and the country at large. It is worthy of note that in the run up to the 2020 General Elections, Mr. Agyemang adopted the 'orphan' Adeiso Constituency and ensured the successful delivery of the parliamentary seat to the NPP for the first time since 1992.

Again, unlike some appointees who became armchair politicians upon assuming leadership positions, Mr. Agyemang did not sip coffee at the comfort of his office during the campaign period. He engaged himself intensively in the campaign activities of the NPP in the Abuakwa South, Nsawam Adoagyiri, Fanteakwa North among several other constituencies in the country.

As the Regional patron of Eastern Loyal Ladies and Alpha Patriots, Mr. Agyemang generously supported their campaign activities with 2 pick-up vehicles. He also supported the campaign of other groups such as the NPP Eastern Regional Youth Network campaign and Ashanti Loyal Ladies. The NPP is grateful for your good works Mr. Kingsley Agyemang, God bless you!
