03.01.2021 LISTEN

Meet Mr. Joseph Anokye, an IT avatar and the brain behind the Parallel NPP National Election Collation Center that has effectively and accurately collated and projected presidential results for the NPP in both the 2016 and 2020 General Elections.

Mr. Joseph Anokye is a trained Geodetic Engineer cum technology manager with stints with a number of international organizations including the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, German Space Operation Center and the Canadian Space Agency.

Mr. Anokye has also worked with several local organizations such as Ghana Commercial Bank (Now GCB Bank), Volta River Authority and Ashanti Goldfield Corporation in various aspects of improving telecommunication in these entities.

He first shot to fame here in Ghana in 2016 when he helped set up the NPP National Election Parallel Collation Center, the first of its kind in the country and also the game-changer in political parties’ election collation. This center accurately projected a win for the then-candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in less than 24 hours after closing of polls with a fair percentage point of 53.

In the just-ended 2020 elections, he did not rest on his oars, his center once again rose to the occasion and independently collated the Presidential results from all the 38, 000 polling stations dotted around the country and again projected a 51% win for the NPP's candidate, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Indeed Mr. Joseph Anokye is a national asset in technology and the NPP is forever grateful for his selfless service to the party. Mr. Anokye is currently the CEO of the National Communications Authority. Mr. Anokye is a native of Oyoko in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
