Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mathew Atanga has slammed the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kintampo South, Hon. Alexander Gyan for awarding his father as the best farmer in the District.

On Friday, October 30, 2020, the district farmers day award ceremony of the Kintampo South District in the Bono East Region was held in Apesika.

At the end of a ceremony where several farmers were given recognition for their work, the NDC’s communication’s officer for the district is lamenting over the unfairness displayed by DCE Hon. Alexander Gyan.

According to Mathew Atanga, deserving farmers were robbed on the day with persons with ties to the New Patriotic Party nepotically given the awards.

“The poor farmer was robbed! The awards were shared to NPP big wigs and the poor farmer left in despair and neglected. You won't believe who received the district best farmer award; Hon Appiah Charles was the man.

“He was given a tricycle(motorking) and other valuable items. This Hon Appiah Charles is currently the Presiding member for the Kintampo South district assembly and the NPP former constituency chairman. Not only these, he is also the father of the Kintampo South DCE”, the NDC communications officer has said in a statement.

Having expressed his disappointment, Mathew Atanga is urging the people of Kintampo South to reject Hon. Alexander Gyan in the upcoming general elections where he is seeking to become the Member of Parliament for the constituency.

“Let me use this opportunity to urge the electorates of Kintampo South to have faith in NDC with Hon Felicia Adjei as MP and his Excellency John Dramani Mahama as president. They are the surest bet to develop Ghana and Kintampo South constituency”, part of the statement signed by Mathew Atanga reads.

KINTAMPO SOUTH DCE HON ALEXANDER GYAN GIVES BEST FARMER AWARD TO HIS FATHER

Today the district farmers day award ceremony of the Kintampo South district was held in Apesika.

I was there some! I sat there with mixed feelings; people scantly spotted on the greenish football park of Apesika D/A school. The DCE, the traditional leaders, the few farmers who managed their way to the venue were all looking uninspired and visibly disappointed in the whole show.

Well, let me proceed to what is substantial and needs serious attention by well meaning Ghanaians. The poor farmer was robbed! The awards were shared to NPP big wigs and the poor farmer left in despair and neglected. You won't believe who received the district best farmer award; Hon Appiah Charles was the man.

He was given a tricycle(motorking) and other valuable items. This Hon Appiah Charles is currently the Presiding member for the Kintampo South district assembly and the NPP former constituency chairman. Not only these, he is also the father of the Kintampo South DCE.

This sound like a joke right! Yes, that is the man who took home the district best farmer award in Kintampo South district. Meanwhile, the real Farmers who should receive these awards were seated and weeping within. How sad it was!

The first, second and third runners up are also known NPP activist. In the nutshell, the awards were simply thank you package for party boys!.

Meanwhile, Hon Alexander Gyan who gave the award to his father is busily visiting these poor farmers in their homes and asking them to vote for him to become member of parliament. How do you seek their support when you are the same person diverting the little support intended for them to your family members and cronies? If you don't feel ashamed to cheat the poor farmer, then I wonder what you will use the MP's common fund for in the unlikely event that you become MP! No! God will not let such tragedy befall the good people of Kintampo South constituency.

Let me use this opportunity to urge the electorates of Kintampo South to have faith in NDC with Hon Felicia Adjei as MP and his Excellency John Dramani Mahama as president. They are the surest bet to develop Ghana and Kintampo South constituency.

Long live Ghana!

Long live NDC!

Long live JDM and Felicia Adjei!
