Quaitoo polled 169 while his main contender polled 215 votes. Quaitoo is the Chairman of the Education Committee of Parliament. The Education Minister Mathew Opoku Prempeh thronged the constituency to campaign for Mr. Quaitoo but failed to convince delegates to retain him.
