It Is Not Just Alleged, Trust Me, I Saw the Videotape Fiili-Fiili

If I choose to let anger conquer my presence of mind, by calling Apostle-of-Weed Kwabena Owusu-Agyei the typical Akyem-Hating Asante SOB, I would be insulting myself and inadvisably alienating my own kinsmen and clanswomen. So, I would rather take on this veritable dope fiend as an individual psychological and psychiatric basket case hireling of the murderous and thievish thugs and payola scam-artist leadership of Ghana’s main opposition National Democratic Congress (See “Weed Allegedly Found on Pastor Who Threatened EC Boss” Ghanaweb.com 6/9/20). I have also read the widely circulating letter written by the executive operatives of the Prempeh College Old Students’ Association, in which the movers and shakers of the latter establishment vehemently dissociate themselves from the hate-inciting effusions of the self-styled Apostle Owusu-Agyei.

What is even more significant, we are informed that Mr. Owusu-Agyei really does not qualify to hold himself off as an “Omani” or alumnus of Prempeh College, the premier secondary academy of the Asante Region, and the Asante Federation as well, I suppose, because the man who recently threatened to execute Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa, the Chairperson of Ghana’s Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), was summarily expelled from Prempeh College while the younger Master Owusu-Agyei was in Form Three at the college, for the criminal act of burglarizing some neighboring homes. Thus, according to Mr. Kwabena Nyarko, the Prempeh College’s Old Boys’ Association’s Global President, and Mr. James Frimpong-Asante, the Global General-Secretary of the same association, Apostle Owusu-Agyei never earned what these Prempeh College alums called the “Amanfoo Status.”

I also have right in front of me, on my computer screen, that is, a news story which alleges that when the rabid National Democratic Congress’ agitprop shill was recently arrested by a platoon of National Security Agents, during a live radio interview, cannabis or marijuana, weed, in common Ghanaian parlance, was found on his person. The quantity of this banned substance found on the criminal suspect, as of this writing, was not known. But that Apostle-of-Marijuana or Mary-Jane Owusu-Agyei was strung high on some sort of narcotic contraband, ought to have been clear and obvious to anybody who saw the cellphone video on which the NDC’s Asante Regional Propaganda Czar was spewing his deadly hatred for arguably the best qualified Ghanaian citizen to be named Chairperson of the Independent Electoral Commission. It ought to have been obvious because all four fingers of our hate-filled protagonist were twitching violently even as he virulently screamed unprintable invectives at both Mrs. Jean Mensa and President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

For me, personally, though, what was even more quaintly fascinating was the fact that Mr. Owusu-Agyei had a hard time trying to get his facts straight. For instance, Apostle-Ganger claimed that the brutally slain Nana Akyea-Mensah of Akyem-Apedwa, the maternal granduncle of yours truly, was the cousin of the putative Doyen of Gold Coast and Ghanaian Politics, Dr. Joseph (Kwame Kyeretwie) Boakye-Danquah. Well, there may, indeed, exist some remote consanguineal connection here. But there is absolutely no forensically credible evidence linking Dr. Danquah to the irredeemably savage and brutal 1944 assassination of Barima Ohemeng, the private-life name of Nana Akyea-Mensah. It was also very entertaining to hear the NDC-sponsored Ganger Apostle fitfully accuse the putative Doyen of Gold Coast and Modern Ghanaian Politics “The murderist of Akyea-Mensah.” You see, that is what ganger does to the brain and the tongue of the hate-filled NDC monster and paid propagandist.

It was also crystal clear that Apostle Owusu-Agyei had absolutely no tangible grievance for haughtily and pontifically declaring his intention to assassinating Mrs. Mensa, other than the avid desire of the NDC hatchet man to fulfilling the political ambitions of his megalomaniacal paymasters. I would not be the least bit flabbergasted, if we soon discover to our predictable horror that Apostle Owusu-Agyei’s drug habit was being fully funded by some of the key operatives of the Mahama-presided National Democratic Congress. Then also, it is inexcusably absurd for anybody to assert that the weed found on Apostle Owusu-Agyei was, somehow, planted on this veritable criminal suspect by the arresting National Security Agents. Anybody who watched the same videoclip that I did, could easily see all four fingers on the left hand of the Apostle of Hate twitching violently, as I have already observed in one of the preceding paragraphs, and the man himself sweating profusely.

If the two preceding symptoms did not point to the stereotypical profile of a drug-addicted madman, I don’t know what else really does. Now, arresting Apostle Owusu-Agyei is only the first step. Making sure that this raving madman and hardened criminal, at least as reliably recounted by his own classmates contemporaries from their Prempeh College days, is kept as far away from civilized Ghanaian society, medically treated, where appropriate, and severely punished, where necessary, is what matters more than anything else. Ultimately, Apostle Owusu-Agyei provides Ghanaians with a striking picture of the caliber of citizen politicians some of them may very well be poised to electing to take over the management of their affairs, in case they are looking for an alternative to the progressive and visionary leadership of the Akufo-Addo-led government of the New Patriotic Party.
