The Tamale interchange construction is about 40%, says the Roads and Highways Minister, Kwasi Amoako-Atta.
“The Contractor's have done 40 per cent of the work on the Tamale interchange as at now and we call it 40% completion which means that the project is on course .”
The minister inspected the Tamale interchange project and interacted with the contractors at the site.
Mr. Amoako-Atta was happy about the progress of work at the site in Tamale.
He assured residents who have been affected by the construction that they will be duly compensated by the government.
The roads minister was hopeful that by July 2021 the Tamale interchange will be ready for commissioning.
Last year, President Akufo-Addo, cut sod for the commencement of the multi-million dollar Tamale Interchange project.
Funded under the $2 billion China Synohydro deal, the Tamale interchange project is expected to be completed within 24 months.
The project is aimed at enhancing inter-urban and national traffic flow reducing the cost and risk of doing business, thereby enhancing trade within the Saharan regions.
The Overlord of the Dagbon Traditional Area, Ya Na Abukari Mahama II , praised President Nana Akufo-Addo for the Tamale Interchange and other developmental projects in the Northern region.
According to the Overlord, the projects were employing many youth in the region.
