Dog sings a lullaby to soothe crying baby

By Caroline Cassidy-lemondrop.co.uk

Is this husky dog trying to 'sing' this baby to sleep or is he joining in with the commotion? We like to think he's singing a lullaby - and it certainly seems to work as the baby soon becomes quiet.

Dog music specialist Lisa Spector agrees: "It seems like the dog is very content. He's either trying to calm the baby by howling. It may work because his tones are long and sustained (and beautiful). Or it's possible that he's trying to alert the adults nearby that the baby is crying. But, the former is probably more likely, since the baby stops crying so quickly and the dogs keeps howling even when the baby is quiet."

1. Dog sings the blues
There's nothing like the sound of the (badly played) harmonica to make you want to sing the blues. Just ask 'Howling Wolf' here. If only we could translate the lyrics...

2. Parrot sings 'You are my sunshine'
Forget 'Who's a pretty boy then.' Parrots don't just talk, many of them can hold a decent tune too. In fact, this star performer is better than a lot of X Factor wannabes we've been subjected to over the years.

3. Oh what a beautiful morning
Ah, the old ones are always the best. This showbiz parrot proves he deserves a place on stage, singing a medley of songs... as long as he can remember the words.

4. Psycho singing cat
We're not sure what inspired this 'cattawalling' but we have our suspicions it may have involved a lot of catnip and a toy mouse on a piece of string.

5. Yodelling cats
Move over singing cats - these yodelling moggies are musical instruments in the hands of this ingenious fiddle player. We're glad to hear no one was hurt during the making of the film, though some of the cats were rather annoyed.

6. Singing rabbit
Who knows what tunes are hummed in the hutch when we humans aren't looking? OK, so this rabbit might have had a little technological help to make him sing, but it's so good we had to include it.

7. Sweet escape - or turn it off?
Is this dog singing along to Gwen Stefani's Sweet Escape, or is he in fact singing "Turn this rubbish off!" We'll let you decide...

8. Piano cat
It's not just singing dogs who have bags of talent. We think this amazingly clever piano-playing pussy deserves his own concert. They do say practice makes purr-fect.
