What Is Your Assignment For This Day?

What Is Your Assignment For This Day?

I. CHILD OF GOD, I tell you of a truth: every day the LORD ushers us into a specific, special, and strategic assignment for each one of us to accomplish. You were not created to just exist, but you were created to execute. Every morning when God opens your eyes, it is not an accident. It is not just another day to go to work, to hustle, to survive. It is a deployment. The tragedy of our generation is not that people are doing nothing. It is that many are busy doing everything except their divine assignment for that day. So I ask you this morning, as we stand before God: TODAY—WHAT IS YOUR ASSIGNMENT? God is a God of assignment. He is purposeful, progressive, and precise. For Adam, the assignment for that day was to tend the garden and name the animals. (Genesis 2:15). For Noah, the assignment was to build. (Genesis 6:14). For Moses, the assignment for that day was to stand before Pharaoh and say, "Let my people go." (Exodus 8:1). For Esther, the assignment for that day was to risk her life in the palace for her people. For our Lord Jesus, every day had an assignment: Today I will teach by the sea, today I will heal Bartimaeus, and today I will go to Calvary.

II. SON OF MAN, remember that the Bible says in Psalm 118:24, "This is the day the Lord has made." He made it today, and He packaged an assignment inside today for you. "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10). Beloved, your assignment may not be to preach on a big stage. It may be to forgive that person who offended you, to call that prodigal child and show love, to pay that debt you have ignored, to visit that sick person in the hospital, to share Christ with that trotro mate, that colleague in the office, to stand for truth when everyone is compromising at work, and to intercede for your family for one hour. Never despise the day of small assignments. (Zechariah 4:10). "Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah... Arise, go to Nineveh... But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord." (Jonah 1:1-3). God said, "Go to Nineveh—your assignment is there." Jonah said, "I have a better plan and a more honourable task in Tarshish." Many of us today are behaving like Jonahs: God says forgive, and you say, "I will keep malice." God says, "Witness," and you say, "I am shy." God says, "Serve," and you say, "I am too busy." God says, "Give," and you say, "Times are hard."

III. DAUGHTER OF ZION, every day, God gives assignments, but we have two choices—like Esther or like Jonah. The Esther response is embracing the assignment, but the Jonah response is running away. And when you run from your assignment, three things happen, like Jonah: You pay your own fare—Jonah paid the fare to Tarshish. Disobedience is expensive. It costs you peace, joy, money, and relationships. You cause a storm for others—The ship was in trouble because of Jonah. Your disobedience affects your family, your workplace, and your church. And you go down—Jonah went DOWN to Joppa, DOWN into the ship, DOWN into the sea, DOWN into the belly of the fish. Every step away from divine assignment is a step downward. Are you running to Tarshish this morning when God sent you to Nineveh? But in Esther 4:14, Mordecai told Esther, "If you remain silent at this time, relief will come from elsewhere, but you and your father's house will perish. Who knows if you have not come for such a time as this? Esther's assignment for that day was not convenient. It was dangerous. She could die. But she said, "If I perish, I perish. I will take up my assignment."

IV. BRETHREN IN THE LORD, today, God is looking for others who will say, "I will not be silent when my generation is perishing; I will stand for righteousness in my office, and I will undertake this divine mandate even if it costs me." Beloved, every morning before you check WhatsApp, check with Heaven. Psalm 5:3—" My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee and will look up." Ask: Lord, what would you have me do today? You must understand that your assignment is hidden in Scripture. Your daily devotional is your daily deployment letter. That burden in your heart, that person who keeps coming to your mind, that prompting to give, to call, to pray—that is often your assignment. Sister, if you cannot do today's small assignment, God cannot trust you with tomorrow's big assignment. When you undertake your divine assignment for the day, you experience fulfillment, you become a blessing to your generation, Heaven records your obedience, and God moves you to the next level of assignment. Remember this is a DIVINE NEW DAY PROPHETIC WORD of encouragement sent forth through the authority and power of Christ Jesus and delivered to the brethren through God's Vessel, Francis Ameyibor. Yes! Do not live this day empty. Do not go to bed tonight with your assignment undone.

V. 2026 IS OUR YEAR AND SEASON TO BE LIFTED UP—God ushered you into today, not just to add to the number of people on earth, but to fulfill a purpose. He has an assignment that only you can do in your house, in your office, in that bus, or in your church. Are you ready to undertake that divine assignment like Esther or like Jonah, and do you want to go your own way to Tarshish?

PRAYER: I pray that you will not miss your day of visitation. I pray that you will not pay the fare to Tarshish. Father, today, I surrender to Your assignment for my life. Show me what You want me to do today, and give me grace to do it. I will not run. I will not delay. I will obey. Use me for such a time as this, in Jesus' name. Amen."
