I. BRETHREN IN THE LORD, grace be unto you and your household. Brother, are you at that point? Sister, are you at that junction? The lonely place? The difficult question you are facing but have no answer to? The huge load you are carrying without anyone to help? Yes. We live in a time of shifting sand. Opinions change weekly. Pressure comes from every side. Some of us are tired. Some of us are tempted to quit. Some of us are wondering, “Can I keep going? Today, I encourage you to stand firm, be steadfast in the faith, be brave, and be strong. Beloved, even though you are at that point, faint not, but keep standing firm. It’s not easy to carry your burdens alone; it's not easy to be jobless; it’s not easy to face challenges in your marriage. In simple terms, life is not that easy. So those who are standing, reach out to those at that point with love. Let us offer balance for each other. 1 Corinthians 16:13 encourages us to be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, and be strong.
II. MY BELOVED SISTERS IN THE LORD, God’s answer to all of us is the same: . Not sometimes. Not when it’s convenient. At all times. In the good seasons and the dry seasons. In public and in private. When you feel strong and when you feel weak. The term "stand firm" originates from military terminology. It means to stand firm and be unyielding. It is a command. In Philippians 4:1 we are encouraged. “Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved.” Our stance is not based on our strength. It is based on being in the Lord. And in Ephesians 6:10-11&13, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil... Therefore, take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, stand firm.” Beloved, notice that scripture encourages us, "Having done all, stand firm.” We have a duty irrespective of the challenges we are facing; God’s word to you is to stand firm.
III. SON OF MAN, in II Thessalonians 2:15, “So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter.” We don’t drift with culture. We anchor to the Word. The ground is slippery; therefore, stand firm. The world is full of uncertainties, but we must hold on in faith. The enemies are throwing arrows at us daily, so let us put on the whole armour of God for our defense. But God did not call us to survive. He called us to stand. Beloved, stand together with your family, your community, and your church, and not alone. Don’t stand alone on an island. In Mark 3:25 we are reminded that "and if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.” In Ecclesiastes 4:12 we are also to acknowledge that "a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Get people who will stand with you. Call them before you compromise. Confess before you collapse. James 1:4, “And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
IV. DAUGHTER OF ZION, Hebrews 12:2-3 “Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.” When you look at problems, you get tired. When you look at Jesus, you get strength. Beloved, standing firm is not passive; it is a prophetic declaration. When you refuse to compromise at work, you are preaching. When you forgive instead of retaliate, you are preaching. When you keep praying when nothing is changing, you are preaching. When you choose purity, generosity, and integrity, you are preaching. Daniel 3:17-18 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego said, “Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us... But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods.” This is a DIVINE NEW DAY PROPHETIC WORD of encouragement sent forth through the authority and power of Christ Jesus and delivered to the brethren through God's vessel, Francis Ameyibor. Yes! That is standing firm at all times. Even if God doesn’t deliver the way we want, we will still stand.
V. 2026 IS OUR YEAR AND SEASON TO BE LIFTED UP—1 Peter 5:8-9 “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith.”
PRAYER: Father, thank You that You are our firm foundation. In a world that shakes, You do not move. Strengthen us today. Help us to be watchful, to be rooted in Your Word, and to stand firm in the faith. When we are weak, be our strength. When we are weary, renew us. Let our lives be a testimony that we belong to You and we will not bow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
