In the work of advocating for development in Ghana’s Upper East Region, some names keep coming up — not for self-promotion, but for consistent, tireless action. One of those names is Gabriel Agambila.
Though we have not met in person, my communication with Gabriel has shown me the kind of leader he is. He shows up for his community with clarity, conviction, and care. As the founder of Agumgube, Gabriel has been at the forefront of championing growth and equity for the Upper East, speaking out when others stay silent. His advocacy — including his recent push against the exclusion of the Upper East from the 500m feeder road loan — reminds us that real development starts with people willing to ask hard questions and demand better for their people.
Gabriel gives without keeping score. He listens, he pushes, and he builds others up without making it about himself. That kind of leadership is rare, and it leaves a lasting mark on everyone in his corner.
Today, on Father’s Day, I want to celebrate Gabriel not just as an advocate, but as the kind of father-figure leader communities need: steady, purposeful, and committed to seeing others win.
Thank you, Gabriel Agambila.
Thank you for your consistency, your wisdom, and your heart for the Upper East. You’ve made a real difference — and Ghana, and beyond, should know your name.
