Prince Ayerakwa, a respected Ghanaian educator, editor, columnist, and author of "The Inner Harmony From a Clear Conscience" and "Street Smart, Book Smart," has distilled ten impactful lessons for navigating 2025 and subsequent years.
1. Discern Your Circle: Not all who surround you wish you well.Beware the smile closest to your ear, for the bite might come from there. Exercise caution in your relationships.
2. Stay the Course, Ignore the Noise: Focus intently on your purpose; let gossip and rumours pass you by.
3. Reason and Belief are Complex: Politics and religion often cloud judgment; tread carefully in these realms.
4. Cherish True Bonds: Most are consumed by their own lives; few will genuinely celebrate your successes. Treasure those who do.
5. Generosity with Wisdom: Practice kindness and generosity, but discern when to give and when to refrain.
6. Value Your Worth: Those who benefit from your free labour may later devalue you. Know when to offer your skills freely, and when to charge.
7. Be Vigilant, Not Paranoid: Many watch for your missteps. Remain aware of this, but don’t let it breed fear.
8. Nurture Genuine Connections: Check in on those who truly care; value their presence in your life.
9. Your Peace, Your Path: Prioritize your inner peace and happiness; do not let others define your journey. The tapestry of a life well-lived is woven with threads of joy, impact, and the mindful living of each day.
10. Listen First Before You Judge. Don't rush to conclusions; recognize the silent battles others may be waging.
Most importantly, Remember our shared humanity; support others and avoid excessive self-interest, given life's unpredictability.
