Digital Transformation and Evolution of Businesses – International Conference on Marketing Challenge

IMT Hyderabad conducted its Annual International conference on Marketing Challenges in Emerging Markets (MCEM) on 8th and 9th December 2017. The theme of the conference was, “Digital Transformation and Evolution of Businesses.” Dr. Satish Ailawadi, Director at IMT Hyderabad welcomed the delegates, the guest of honor and key note speaker Mr. Geoffrey Clements, associated with Commonwealth Association for Infrastructure Development and Bournemouth University. Speaking about how digital transformation has taken over the world and how in the near future IoT and Web 4.0 will be part of our daily lives, Dr. Ailawadi, said “Understanding everything about consumers, including their lives and behavioral patterns has become imperative today. Marketing strategy need to offer the value proposition at every touch point which is aligned to the customer’s life style. Innovation and implementation according to the competitive environment changes will be the key”.

Prof. Devi Prasad Ghosh, Head of Marketing Department, at IMT Hyderabad said, “The arts and science of marketing is evolving to focus on bold multi-platform ideas which should try to capture the eye balls of the consumer not in one particular media but on all possible media and of which digital being the most important. This two-day long event has been thus designed keeping in mind the complete cycle with eight tracks covering consumer behavior, digital marketing, change management & leadership, business operations & IT, business analytics & IT, customer relations and digitization & society.”

In all around 40 research papers were selected after a rigorous review process for presentation in this conference. Besides research participation from IMT Hyderabad and Ghaziabad, the conference saw researchers from

IBS-Hyderabad, IBS-Mumbai, IPE Hyderabad, NIT Warangal, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University Lucknow, Uttara University Bangladesh, Augustana University USA, and other premier institutes and universities from India and abroad.

On the second day of the MCEM conference, eminent personalities from professionally diverse diaspora gathered for a panel discussion on the topic: “Digital Growth and Business Transformation.” The distinguished guests for the event were: Dr. Satish Ailawadi- Director at IMT Hyderabad, Mr. Murali Chemuturi- an author and consultant, Mr. Sridhar Seshadri - Director of Technology and Products at Cognitive Scale, Mr. Shreeram Iyer – Vice President of Water Analytics Firm, Mr. Srinivas Nudurupati -Vice President at Origo Commodities India Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Manish Jha – Head of Marketing (VP) at Shriram Life Insurance and Mr. Amit Chaturvedi – Senior Director at Virtusa. The moderator for the discussion was Mr. Murali Krishna Chemuturi
