'Leave Kwesi Arthur Alone' - Medikal fires Warning to Ground Up Chale Management

Music Leave Kwesi Arthur Alone - Medikal fires Warning to Ground Up Chale Management
THU, 22 JAN 2026

Ghanaian rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong, widely known as Medikal, has weighed in on the ongoing dispute between fellow rapper Kwesi Arthur and his former record label and its executives.

The controversy gained widespread attention after the award-winning artiste accused his former manager, Glen Boateng, of demanding as much as $150,000 before he could use his own image for a project. Kwesi Arthur also alleged that the label is laying claim to ownership of his music and everything associated with his brand dating back to 2016.

Kwesi Arthur further stated that although he no longer works with the label, he continues to face intense pressure from its executives. He claimed that throughout the years he was signed to the label, he did not earn any income from his music. “I have not made a dime from any of my music during the entire period I worked with them,” he said. In a worrying declaration, he added that if anything untoward were to happen to him, his former manager and the Ground Up Chale team should be held accountable, alleging threats and manipulation from the label’s executives.

Reacting to the situation, Medikal revealed that he knew Kwesi Arthur long before the record label was formed and highlighted the immense effort and dedication his friend invested in building his career and brand. He questioned why the label’s management would now pursue actions aimed at stifling the rapper’s success.

Medikal added that the situation did not surprise him, describing it as a common mindset among some Ghanaians who believe that offering minimal support entitles them to lifelong control or claims over another person’s success.
