The Olivera Miljkovic Foundation, a non-profit organization has donated bottled and sachet water to Fetteh D/A KG/Primary School at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region under its Water for All Project.
The donation was made by the Director of the Foundation, Leon Daniel Agyeman Dodoo, as part of efforts to support basic schools facing challenges in accessing clean drinking water.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Dodoo noted that water is life and described the situation in many schools without reliable access to potable water as worrying. He said the Foundation had taken it upon itself to support such schools in any way possible to improve the welfare of pupils.
He further assured the community that this was just the beginning, adding that schools in Gomoa Fetteh would continue to benefit from similar interventions. According to him, the Foundation is also committed to engaging investors to help develop schools within the community.
As part of the event, the Founder and Owner of the Foundation, Aleksandar Miljkovic, presented the Foundation’s first-ever award to the Chief of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Abor Atta II, in recognition of his dedication and outstanding contributions to the development of the Gomoa community.
Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the Head Teacher, Amekudzi Richmond, expressed his appreciation to the Foundation for the timely support. He assured that the water would be used for its intended purpose.
He explained that access to water had been a major challenge for the school for some time and noted that the donation would help ease the burden on pupils and parents who often had to buy water from outside on a daily basis.
