A man has been arrested in Akwatia for allegedly attempting to sell his three-year-old son for GH¢1 million.
The Akwatia Police Command apprehended Coffie Agyemang, a resident of Kwamang, after intelligence suggested he was seeking to sell his child. According to sources, Agyemang discussed the plan with an associate, claiming financial difficulties as his reason.
Police were subsequently alerted and conducted an undercover operation, posing as potential buyers. An agreement was reportedly reached at a price of GH¢1 million.
Agyemang was arrested after he arrived at the agreed location with the child. Police say investigations are continuing, including inquiries into other disturbing claims linked to the case.
