The Minority in Parliament has accused management of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) of gross incompetence, alleging that its operations contributed to the Bank of Ghana's negative equity position in 2025.

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin claims GoldBod incurred losses amounting to GH¢22 billion from its operations, which he says contributed to the Central Bank's negative equity position.

Addressing journalists, the Minority Leader accused GoldBod of mismanagement and causing financial loss to the state.

The Minority is demanding greater accountability and transparency from GoldBod over its gold trading operations and the financial implications for the state.
