The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has disclosed that cocaine valued at more than US$350 million, seized at Pedu Junction in the Central Region, has been destroyed following a court order.
Appearing before Parliament's Committee on Assurances, the Minister said authorities followed the required legal procedures in disposing of the narcotic substance.
He added that evidence of the destruction process has been provided to confirm that the cocaine was properly disposed of in line with the court's directive.
The disclosure forms part of government's response to questions surrounding the handling of the major drug seizure.
