Kofi Manu Accuses Kurt Okraku Of Refusing To Respect GFA Statutes

Outspoken football administrator, Kofi Manu has accused the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) of refusing to respect the statutes of the body while pointing that his administration has taken decisions without going for Congress.

This is coming after Dreams FC administrator Ameenu Shadow stated that Kurt Okraku’s administration has started off well contrary to utterances from Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer indicating that nothing has changed under the current leader.

Waving into the matter in an interview with Happy FM on Monday morning, Kofi Manu, popularly known as Blue Boy has disclosed that the Ghana FA boss has so far shown no respect for the Statutes of the association.

According to him, Kurt Okraku is liable for impeachment based on some decisions he has taken since assuming the top position at the country’s football governing body.

Making reference to Article 39 and 42 of the Ghana FA statutes, Kofi Manu explained: “The only unprecedented thing the GFA President has done is the highly disrespect for members of the Association through the disregard of the constitution of the FA that brought them into office.

“From October 25, 2019, that he [Kurt Okraku] was elected, he has approved the allowances he has been taking which have not been approved by Congress”.

The veteran football administrator added, “It is an offense which is liable to impeachment. In Article 42 paragraph 2, the remuneration of members of the Executive Council shall be proposed by an Ad-hoc compensation committee and approved by Congress.

“He has bluntly refused to respect the status of the FA and taking monies which has not been approved by Congress which is an impeachable offense”.

Kurt Okraku has been the president of the Ghana Football Association for the last 7 months and is already under fire with many football administrators not happy with his reign so far.
