Eurozone countries fail to reach deal on economic response to Covid-19
Finance ministers of countries using the euro currency have failed to produce a deal to help states hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic, in an impasse reminiscent of the eurozone debt crises of the early 2010s.
Finance and economy ministers who comprise the Eurogroup, the 19 European Union (EU) states using the single currency, said Wednesday they had failed to agree on how to help hard-hit EU states recover from the coronavirus epidemic.

Covid-19 : Obuasi West MP Presents PPEs To Health Directorate
Hon. Kwaku Kwarteng, the Member of Parliament for Obuasi West and the Deputy Minister of Finance has presented Personal Preventive Equipment (PPEs) to the Obuasi Municipal Health Directorate.
The items he presented included; 2000 Face mask, 3000 Hand sanitizer (small), 4000 Protective clothing, 11,000Handgloves, 6000 Food Supplements(Natural Cocoa powder), 7000 Vitamin C tablet and 10 Veronica buckets.

Press Multimedia, an online radio and news portal based in South Africa has suspended all provincial and European Tour slated for 18th to 26th June, 2020 as a result of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.
The decision means all outreach programs in communities, churches, schools and corporate institutions will all grind to a halt indefinitely.

COVID-19 Lockdown: Mahama Condemns Killing Of Ashaiman Resident By Soldier
Former President John Mahama has condemned the shooting to death of a civilian at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region by a soldier who was enforcing lockdown directives.
While eyewitnesses say the soldier deliberate shot and killed the unarmed civilian, the Ghana Armed Forces, in a statement, claimed the man had attempted disarming the solider during a scuffle which caused the soldier’s rifled to “accidentally” go off.

Covid-19: Relief Package Must Benefit All Health Workers – Mahama
Former President John Dramani Mahama has said government must consider a package that would cover all healthcare staff rather than a "hefty package" for only "frontline health workers" as they are all needed to fight the coronavirus.
President Nana Akufo-Addo, in his address to the nation on Sunday, 5 April 2020, announced an insurance package of GHS350,000 for each health personnel and allied professional at the forefront of the COVID-19 fight.

How African-Americans are hit by coronavirus

We reported earlier about stats from Chicago, which showed that the city's Black residents account for half of its coronavirus cases and more than 70% of deaths - despite only making up 30% of the population.
At the same time other cities with large black populations, including Detroit, Milwaukee, New Orleans and New York, have become coronavirus hotspots.
