Man arrested in Obuasi for allegedly impersonating soldier to extort illegal miners
A man has been arrested in Obuasi for allegedly posing as a military officer to extort money from people engaged in illegal mining activities.
The suspect, who is believed to be from Bogoso, is accused of impersonating a soldier and demanding money from illegal miners operating in the area.
According to reports, the alleged scheme unravelled after the miners became suspicious of his identity. They are said to have established that he was not a member of the military, apprehended him and handed him over to the authorities.
