ASA Savings and Loans donate a computer set, ceiling fans to support Tarkwa Islamic Basic School
The ASA Savings and Loans Limited on Thursday, May 18 donated one computer set and ten ceiling fans to Tarkwa Islamic Basic School at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana at a cost of GHS6,700.00.
The items will benefit the 20 teachers and 436 pupils in the school.
At the short presentation, the Area Manager of the company, Mr. Md Nasimul Islam said, there was a need for this donation as it forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibilities.
According to him, education is the backbone of the nation.
“No nation can prosper without education. There is no substitute for education if every nation is to reach the pinnacle of development. The mainstay of vertebrates is their spine. Man cannot stand up straight without his spine, he cannot walk back and forth, and he cannot use force in any work. Similarly, education is very important for a nation. We are very glad to help the school. We believe that if a nation will be educated then the country will prosper,” he said.
As a company, Mr. Md. Nasimul Islam said it has always been their priority to meet the needs of their stakeholders through CSR to foster developmental change in living standards.

The Branch Manager of ASA Savings and Loans in Tarkwa, Mr. Cephas Allotey said “I'm very honoured on behalf of ASA Savings and Loans Ltd, to attend the donation to the local needy school. Today's donation by ASA is a very important part of a series of activities that our company does to help local schools. The work fully reflects the care for social welfare and children's education, and their earnest expectations for our social responsibility and friendship.”
He noted that the company hopes that helping the disadvantaged and supporting education will become the common undertaking of all the different sectors.
He said the donation will help influence social fairness, justice, harmony, and sustainable development.
“I sincerely hope that all the students study hard in the good times and grow into useful talents to society. I also hope that teachers and students remember the care and expectations placed on them by ASA savings and loans. In addition to the obvious benefit of access to remote learning, the digital skills children gain by using tech in their day-to-day lives are invaluable,” Mr. Cephas Allotey said.
After receiving the items, the Headmaster of Tarkwa Islamic Basic School, Mr. Abudu Nassar on behalf of the school management committee, Parents, Teachers, and students of Tarkwa Islamic Basic School expressed their appreciation to ASA Savings and Loans Ltd for the kind gesture.
“Our appreciation stems from the fact that these items have been on the list of felt needs of the school for a long time. The items will indeed enhance the teaching and learning of ITC for teachers and students.
