Johannesburg, South Africa Nigerian music star Crown Uzama, best known by his stage name Shallipopi, has been named TikTok’s 2025 Artist of the Year for Sub-Saharan Africa at the platform’s annual awards ceremony held in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The TikTok Awards Sub-Saharan Africa 2025, themed “New Era, New Icons”, brought together top content creators, musicians, and influencers from across the region to celebrate the short-form video app’s biggest contributors of the year.
