Ofosu Bamfo Wins Jnr Tennis

Agra(L) presents the cash prize to Bamfo

Youthful Kwabena Ofosu Bamfo demonstrated good play to emerge on powerful services, the Aviation Social Centre player defeated Benjamin Fumi in a two straight win, 6-1, 6-2 in the final of the U-18 category.

For his brilliance, he took home a special cash prize and souvenirs from the sponsors-Akai House Clinic in a five-day tournament that attracted 136 children.

Emmanuel Plange won the boys U-12 event by beating George Nyarko 4-0, 4-0, while Marcel Agbegme won the U-14 category.

Abraham Asaba triumphed over Steven Nortey 7-5, 6-2 in the U-16 event.

Francisca Nyarko emerged winner in the Girls U-18, beating Laria Yakubu 6-1, 6-2, while Marian Ibrahim won the ladies U-14 event beating Abigail Ayitey 4-2, 4-1.

The Chief Executive of the National Sports Council (NSC) Worlanyo Agra expressed joy at the display of talent, noting, 'I am happy because what I have seen that the foundation of tennis is on track.'

He urged the organizers to extend the event to the other regions.
