Hans DeBeer wins 32nd GGA Seniors Open Championship At Coconut Groove Golf Course

Hans DeBeer won the 32nd Seniors Open championship which took place over the weekend at the Coconut Groove Golf Course at Elmina.

He was followed by Stephen Acquah of Obuasi in the Men's event whiles Rosemond Coggin won the ladies' support

In all, a total of 48 golfers took part in the exciting competition. The number of participants increased than previous events, and the President of the Ghana Golf Association, Mr Michael O. Aggrey was very happy.

He expressed his satisfaction with the successful tournament which attracted players from Tarkwa, Obuasi, Takoradi, Nsuta, Achimota and Centre of the World Golf club.

Prizes were awarded to the winners, including giant locally made wooden trophies with golden adinkra symbols.

Coconut Grove Beach Resort gave out a full board weekend for two vouchers to the men and ladies winners.

All participants received a bone density treatment from Crystal Health worth Ghs1,000 each.

Mr Aggrey commended the winners and urged the losses to train very hard for other competitions coming up. He advised the youth to take up golf as it is a wonderful sport.
