Jalsa Salana UK 2018 Is To Loyalty, Freedom, Equality, Respect And Peace

Upon the invitation of the National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in the UK, Jalsa Salana UK 2018 arguably projected the essence of ‘loyalty, Freedom, Equality, Respect and Peace.

Taking it main purpose and focus on the hinges of its founder’s message, one could sense or see the clarity of their mission.

In that respect ‘The Promised Messiah’s message indicates that: “The primary purpose of this Convention is to personally experience religious benefits. They may enhance their knowledge and –due to their being blessed and enabled by Allah.

“The Exalted- their perception (of Allah) may progress. Among its secondary benefits is that, this Congregational meeting together will promote mutual introduction among all brothers, and it will strengthen the fraternal ties within this community.”

Being a unique event that gathers over 35,000 participants from close to 90,000 countries for some religious knowledge, it is of course another medium by the Ahmadiyya community to promote a sense of peace and brotherhood among fellow believers of their faith.

The part of this year's convention that was thought provoking was the Al- Qalam Project. It is an exclusive international project founded by Razwan Baig in collaboration with The Review of religions.

It was officially launched by the worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad in 2016.

It is a historic project that seeks to produce a unique copy of the Holy Qur' an . And every single verse of it is being penned by a different person regardless of their faith.

They would also receive a certificate marking their participation in this historical project. This unique initiative according to the believes of the Ahmadiyya community, promotes respect and is the first of its kind in the world.

According to the Ahmadiyya Community writing is in the heart of all their endeavours hence their love for calligraphy. ' One of the inspirations behind this project is to bring back the art of writing.

'Under the supervision of an expert calligrapher, anyone wishing to participate in the historic Al-Qalam Project can so without any experience of calligraphy.'

Jalsa Salana as an Ahmadiyya convention does not only focus on its faith but also its humanitarian perspective as a community that cares about the people of the world.

On the radars of its Humanitarian Projects- The charity Humanity First have been working on projects in about 51 countries across 6 continents.

And some of their work was seen at an exhibition showing the diversity, scale and scope of their projects with regards to the building of clinics, provision of water in some remote areas of some countries in Africa.

The various schemes that were displayed includes 'Gift of Sight' for those with eye problems, Disaster Relief for countries in need, Orphan Care- to take care of orphans, Water For Life, Knowledge For Life, Food Security as well as Global Health.

In the execution of all these projects, schemes and many other notable work on their humanitarian agenda, in the conflict of interest or other, how political can it get in certain countries.

To this question the head of Humanity First in Canada Mr Aslam Daud gave his answer as “ Not at all we work very well and get on with all governments.

“Because Humanity First is a non-political and non-governmental organisation, we are a registered charity so the first thing we do is we work with the government by telling them what we want to do by partnership and collaboration.”

“We partner with the World Health Organisation, UNHCR for refugees settlement and partnership and collaboration to help more people.”

In their quest to eradicate poverty, feed the hungry, shelter the homeless and protect the vulnerable in society, the Ahmadiyya Community is poised to do more.

In his information the chairman of Water For Life Mr Tahir tells what the future holds for countries and communities who would benefit from their works “ We have been instructed by our leaders to run four projects in Africa namely Water For life, Alternative Energy, Model Village and Architecture.”

So far the Ahmadiyya Community's humanitarian efforts have been witnessed in countries such as Benin, Burkina Faso, D.R Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Niger, Nigeria, Mali, Rwanda and Sierra Leon.

The other countries sharing the benefits of the Ahmadiyya Community's humanitarian aid are Tanzania, Gambia, Uganda. And lately Liberia.

Some students of the Ahmadiyya Faith who have done exceptionally well in their various schools and universities were also awarded for their hard work and excellencies .

The manifestation of words such as Loyalty, Freedom, Equality, Respect and Peace were somehow felt at this year's Jalsa Salana.
