WordDigest: Will You Sacrifice For Boaz? (2) Do Away With Self-Centeredness

"So she fell on her face, bowed down to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?” And Boaz answered and said to her, “It has been fully reported to me, all that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you did not know before."

[Ruth 2:9-10]
NKJV
Clearly, Noami couldn't do much by herself at old age.

So Ruth has to glean from a field unknowingly belonging to Boaz for them to survive.

Boaz heard much about Ruth's love and works for her mother-in-law but Ruth had no idea who Boaz was.

Until she got home where Naomi told her about Boaz.

All Ruth taught was providing food and support for Naomi in those torrid moments.

Logically, Ruth threw her self-centeredness away and having lost her husband, she had that drive to love her mother-in-law by going to the field to glean.

What would you have done if you were in the shoes of Ruth?

That is a heart searching question.
While Ruth was on Boaz's field, nothing hinted her of sacrificing for Boaz.

You maybe married or yet to be married as you chance upon this write -up.

If you are self-centered, how do you care for others?

If a wife or husband is self-centered, how do both care for each other?

For one to meet his Ruth or her Boaz, a good sacrifice has to be made.

Do away with self-centeredness.
You reap what you sow.
Will you sacrifice for Boaz?
To be continued....
Prayer
Lord Jesus, let goodness and mercies follow us all day long, Amen
