Appolonia business park breaks ground in Ghana

Rendeavour, Africa’s largest urban developer has broken ground on its 70-acre site dedicated to industrial purposes within the Appolonia City in Accra.

The Appolonia Business Park has been designed to offer dedicated space for businesses to operate and will provide ultra modern infrastructure specifically engineered to suit light industrial purposes.

It was inaugurated by U.S. Ambassador Robert Jackson and a representative from the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Mr Frederick Alipui, Policy Advisor to the Minister.

The event was also attended by representatives of European embassies in Ghana, as well as some members of the Accra business community.

Ambassador Jackson in welcoming the presence of American investors in the country said, “We congratulate Rendeavour for its dedication in bringing the Appolonia development to reality.

"It is really an investment in the future – positioning this area as a social and economic hub, with the potential to create significant jobs,” he said.

President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Mr. James Asare Adjei, in an interview with JOY BUSINESS implored government to support the establishment of such industrial parks to provide international grade infrastructure to businesses.

He also advised real estate developers to emulate the example of Rendeavour, and factor it in their projects to foster industrial growth in the country.

Appolonia City is a 2,250-acre mixed-use and mixed-income urban development located at Oyibi in the Greater Accra Metropolitan area.

The project is being developed for residential properties, retail and other commercial centers, as well as schools, healthcare and other social infrastructure.
