The National Youth Peace Concert 2016
The GHANA DOMESTIC TOURISM COMPANY in collaboration BASELINE ENTERTAINMENT and EVENT MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION GHANA announces it maiden “NATIONAL YOUTH PEACE CONCERT 2016”. The event will take place at the INDEPENDENCE SQUARE ACCRA on 25th JUNE 2016 (SATURDAY) from 10:00AM – 7:00 PM.
The event will host major Ghanaian musicians, celebrities and comedians. The event will host major Ghanaian musicians along with celebrities and comedians. The objectives event are to:
- CREATE A PLATFORM FOR THE GHANAIAN YOUTH TO SIGNAL THEIR UNANIMOUS AND A NON-PARTISAN VOICE FOR PEACEFUL ELECTIONS BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER.
- SECURE A PETITION SIGNED BY ONE MILLION GHANAIAN YOUTH TO BE PRESENTED TO OUR COLLECTIVE POLITICAL PARTY LEADERS TO ENDORSE PEACE BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER ELECTIONS.
- TO CELEBRATE GHANA AS ONE NATION, ONE PEOPLE
Barima Adu-Asamoa Chief Executive Ghana Domestic Tourism Company organizer’s of the event intimated
“Democracy requires the active participation of citizens and the role of the youth in the process is also critical since the future of any nation is invested in the youth. It is therefore important for the Ghanaian youth to register their concern and impress on the collective political leadership of our nation their sacred duty and responsibility in ensuring sustainable peace.” . The event will attract over hundred youth organizations with messages of support and solidarity after which the musical concert will commence. Other activities around our theme includes :
- YOUTH PEACE AMBASSADORS
There will also be TEN(10) youth PEACE AMBASSADORS representing the TEN REGIONS of Ghana with the main objective of using media platform to encourageand sensitizingthe youth on peace issues.
- RADIO PROGRAAME
The event will also have a dedicated 20 minutes radio programmeweekly provisionally,titled “LOADING PEACE”. The focus of the programme is to sensitize the youth for peaceful elections as well as encourage to sign the ONE MILLION youth petition.
