Union of Ghanaian Associations in Germany (UGAG) elects new officers in bi-annual election

The Union of Ghanaian Associations in Germany (UGAG) has announced the results of its biannual election. UGAG's newly elected officers will lead the umbrella organization in Germany, representing local Ghanaian associations, religious groups and ethnic groups. The newly elected officers began their 2-year term of office from Saturday November 7, 2015. The elections was supervised by a high powered delegation from the Ghana Embassy, Berlin headed by Minister Samuel Adotey Anum, Head Consul. Mr. Owusu Afriyie, president of Ghana Union Bremen and Mr. Prince Abdallah W. Jambiedu, secretary of Ghana Union Bremen assisted with the electoral process.

Elected Officers

Mr. William Nketia, outgoing vice-president of UGAG was elected president. He is a member of Ghana Union Cologne.

Mr. Norman Dzackah was elected vice-president. He is the current vice-president of Ghana Union Worms.

Mr. Akwasi Opoku Edusei retained his position and was re-elected general secretary for a second term. He is a member of Ghana Union Mannheim & Ludwigshafen.

Mr. Aaron Hooper was elected deputy general secretary. He is the current vice-president of Ghana Union Freiburg.
Mr. Christian Yamoah Gyasi the outgoing organizing secretary was elected financial secretary.

He is a member of Ghana Union Worms.

Mr. Paul Hossou was elected organizing secretary. He is currently the president of Ghana Union Düsseldorf.
Ms. Joyce Dieckmann retained her position and was re-elected deputy organizing secretary for a second term. She is a member of Ghana Union Bremen.

The elected officers after the voting took the oath of office. The ceremony was also administered by Minister Adotey Anum. President Nketia pledged on behalf of his team to serve the association in truth and in unity.
