“ The Aim Of Reviving Stc Is Not To Kill Businesses Of Other Transport Operators”-nuamah Donkor

Former Ashanti Regional Minister under the Rawlings’ regime and the managing director of Intercity STC Coaches Limited has stated that the aim of revitalising the intercity STC coaches limited is not to kill the businesses of other transport operators such as GPRTU and PROTOA but to ensure smooth running of the country using the transport sector. He is therefore calling for collaboration from those other transport operators but not a competition from them.

Hon. Samuel Nuamah Donkor was speaking at a durbar of chiefs and people of Akim Oda to launch an Intercity STC Coaches Limited branch in the Eastern Region.

On her part, Nana Akua Asantewaa III thanked the government for reviving the intercity STC coaches limited. She however added that it will be an exercise in futility if our roads continue to be in the deplorable state that it is in now. She therefore called on nananom and the government to put resources together to construct the roads to save the transport sector from huge avoidable debt caused by breaking down of vehicles because of bad roads.

The Eastern Regional Minister Hon. Antwi Boasiako Sekyere when giving the chance to speak also reiterate the call madeby Hon. Nuamah Donkor that the intercity STC coaches limited is not to collapse the businesses of other transport operatives. He however assured the people that the NDC government is working assiduously to construct and rehabilitate all bad roads in the region. He then advised the drivers to treat their passengers with respect and also dress nicely to bring sanity to the driving business. He also advised transport operators to see to it that their vehicles are road wealthy before they are allowed to ply on the roads of Ghana.
