Odotobiri Rural Bank denies involvement in NSS scandal

The Board of Directors and the Management of Odotobiri Rural Bank in the Ashanti region are exonerating the bank from the scandal that has hit the National Service Scheme (NSS).

Some financial institutions have been implicated in the recent NSS alleged fraud which involves payments into ghost and duplicate scandal.

Odotobiri has however denied being implicated in any investigation, stating the citing of the bank in some media reports are false, untrue and malicious.

The Bank has closely examined these allegations and has found them to be false, untrue, malicious, unmeritorious but rather calculated to undermine the reputation of the Bank and the enviable position it occupies in the present highly competitive market,” said a statement signed by Board Chairman, Bernard Asamoah Boateng.

The bank added that the “deliberate misinformation and misrepresentation campaign is motivated by bad faith and determination to undermine the progress and profitability of the Bank”.

It has therefore shareholders and customers that no branch of the bank is closed down.

“The Bank remains fully operational and all its branches open for business as usual,” it said. “The Bank is pleased to assure its customers and shareholders that the Bank continues to do well in its operations and remain committed to placing profit maximization, growing of business and responsible corporate social citizenship as its guiding principles”.
