Monetary Policy Committee maintains policy rate at 12.5 percent

The Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Ghana has maintained the policy rate, the key lending rate at 12.5 percent.

The rate would usually be a key factor in interest rate determination.

Governor Kwesi Amissah-Arthur explains that the move is to ensure that the economy avoids signs of instability on the market.
