US Army kidding around in Africa

080312-N-7434C-084 ACCRA, Ghana (March 12, 2008) Africa Partnership Station (APS) volunteers, U.S. Army Capt. Brian Smith and U.S. Army Specialist Steven Mraz both assigned to the 64th Medical Detachment (Veterinary Service) inoculate a pair of baby goats as a local Ghanaian observes the procedure. The two Army veterinarians traveled throughout the Accra suburb of Abokobi performing inoculations on local livestock as part of APS. Teams from various U.S. and European military commands, as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations, are embarked aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Fort McHenry and the high-speed vessel Swift (HSV 2) for a seven-month deployment to enhance cooperative partnerships with regional maritime services in West and Central Africa.
