Spare Time To Read

Dear Editor, In view of the growing number of radio and television networks in the country, there is the tendency for young people in particular to become glued to these media instead of reading.

TV and radio can both educate and entertain viewers but reading is the best way to learn and develop one's mind. As a result, those who never read books tend to miss so much in their lives.

Reading widely is very important for a number of reasons. It does not only help broaden your mind on various issues but improves your command over the English Language and boosts your self-confidence.

Good writers are always good readers so if you want to improve the quality of your writing, a good way to do that is by reading.

Students will, therefore, do themselves a lot of good if they borrow books from their school or public libraries to read.
